ABOUT
THE
REGION

WE ARE GLAD
YOU’RE HERE!

Whether you are a first-time visitor, a frequent guest or a seasonal camp owner, we are glad you are here.

The East Grand Lake Region provides the best that Northeast Maine has to offer, and our abundant lakes, streams and forests deliver four season fun, activity and recreation.

Spring and summer allow for hiking on our newly developed trails, camping, and fishing and boating on our many beautiful lakes and streams.  Be certain to enjoy Summerfest, our Summer Community Concert Series, Friday Farmer’s Market and look into our other “age friendly” events!

As the weather turns brisk, activity heats up with hunting, ice fishing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and snowmobile fun!  Our well-groomed trails provide access to the vast Maine network of trails.

Looking for a place to stay?  The region contains a variety of choices from camps, cabins, campgrounds, and lodges to satisfy your lodging preferences.  There are several dine-in or take out locations as well as meal plans or cooking appliances with some lodging options.

The area is supported by local businesses that provide necessary goods and services;  groceries, restaurants, banking, medical, hardware & building supplies, fuel and propane.  A number of registered guides are available to enhance your hunting and/or fishing experience.  The area also boasts a number of specialty shops featuring hand made items made with locally sourced products!  You will find contact information for each on this website.

If this is your first visit, take the opportunity to stop at our two scenic turnouts on US Route 1.  A majestic view of Mount Katahdin and the panoramic view of East Grand (and Canada).  Take a hike up Peek-a-Boo Mountain, climb the restored fire tower and experience the breathtaking view…then imagine the fun and adventure that waits for you!
